I could never have imagined growing my own fruit and veg in amazing garden of a beautiful old house for 5 months as part of the BBC TV show, ‘BBC BIG ALLOTMENT CHALLENGE’, let alone winning the entire series!
I’d like to share my experiences with you and to give you some hints and tips along the way.
Not matter if you’re a novice or the gardening god that is Jim Butress, I hope I can inspire and encourage you to pick up a spade and try something different.
If you watched the BBC Big Allotment Challenge you’ll already be familiar with the format.
If not, here’s what its all about..
‘Make‘ – This is where you have to grow showstopping blooms and produce arrangements for floral expert, Jonathan Moseley . These challenges are all surprises and Jonathan can be devious in what he sets.
‘Eat‘ – Thane Prince, our Queen of preserves oversees the cooking challenges. You have to include the crop you grew for Jim in these. BEWARE, Thane has a razor sharp tongue and isn’t afraid to use it.
